Our safari starts in Samburu, where seeing Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, or the elusive gerenuk feels like an exclusive privilege. Then we enter Laikipia, with its open plains and the unique possibility of following the tracks of the black leopard, Giza. Among these wild landscapes, we hike Mount Kenya, breathing in height, wind and silence, and end up in Ol Pejeta, where wildlife and conservation meet in intimate and surprising ways.

Tour Plan

Day 1.- City of origin - Nairobi

You arrive in Nairobi and as soon as you set foot on land you feel that something special is beginning.

I pick you up at the airport and as we head to the hotel, we talk, laugh and tell you a little about what awaits us: tomorrow we start to live Kenya for real.

Day 2.- Nairobi - Samburu

We had breakfast and left Nairobi in the morning.

Little by little the landscape changes: the city is left behind and the most authentic, open and wild Africa appears.

We arrived in Samburu just at lunchtime and after a short break we set off on the first safari in the afternoon. Every encounter with wildlife is surprising: Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, and elusive gerenuk seem to move only for us.

The river attracts elephants and birds that fill the air with life. Ending the day watching the golden light fall on this wild landscape is the perfect welcome to this unique journey.

Day 3.- Samburu

Samburu is a unique landscape, where the desert mixes with palm trees, rivers and hills that seem to open only for us.

We tour the reserve with the security that comes from knowing it like the back of our hand; There is no corner that is a secret.

Our experience allows us to read the earth and anticipate the movements of fauna: we follow the tracks, interpret the sounds and feel the changes in the air.

Thus, we can meet species that only live here – Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk or beisa oryx – and live each encounter with respect, calm and depth, feeling the true connection with nature.

Day 4.- Samburu - Laikipia

We leave Samburu early and drive about three and a half hours on the road through slowly changing landscapes: arid plains give way to green hills and meandering rivers.

We arrive in Laikipia around lunchtime, ready to enter a different territory, where the fauna and landscape have their own character.

As a guide, I know every corner of this region and can anticipate where the most elusive animals will appear. Here nature feels open and quiet, and it's the perfect place for unique encounters, from large herds of herbivores to the more reserved cats, including the mysterious black leopard, Giza.

Each moment invites you to experience the connection with the land and with wildlife in a deep and exclusive way.

Day 5.- Laikipia

We spent the day touring Laikipia, an open and silent region that offers encounters with wildlife not seen in the most touristy parks.

From elephants and buffalo to giraffes and large antelopes, each encounter is enjoyed calmly, following routes I know in detail.

We are always on the lookout for Giza, the black leopard, and other elusive species that only reveal their presence to those who know how to observe.

The landscape is constantly changing: gentle hills, rivers and bush areas, always offering a perfect setting for wildlife. During the safari, the rhythm is ours: photo breaks, moments of observation and the opportunity to feel the connection with the land and the animals, in a day designed to experience Laikipia in an authentic and exclusive way.

Day 6.- Laikipia - Mount Kenya - Ol Pejeta

We leave early to do a trekking on Mount Kenya, starting from the base camp near Naro Moru.

We walk along well-marked trails between bamboo forests and hectares of Afro-alpine forest, until we reach the panoramic points where you can see the glacier and the highest peaks.

The hike takes about 3-4 hours, enough to enjoy the scenery and feel the mountain, without rushing.

After the trek we leave for Ol Pejeta. The route traverses the Ewaso Nyiro valley and the plains of Laikipia, with landscapes changing from mountain forests to open hills.

It is about 3 and a half hours of travel, depending on traffic and road conditions. We arrived around lunchtime or shortly after, just in time to settle in and get ready to explore the conservancy in the afternoon.

In Ol Pejeta, the wildlife is intense and diverse: rescued rhinos, elephants and chimpanzees coexist with herds of herbivores, and each route is designed to maximize encounters while we move calmly, following my experience and knowledge of the terrain so that we don't miss anything.

Day 7.- Ol Pejeta

Today we explore the Ol Pejeta conservancy, a place where conservation and wildlife are lived intensely and closely.

We get up close and personal with Fatu and Najin, the famous white rhinos, on a paid direct tour that allows us to get up close and personal with them and understand the protection work that goes on here. Optional

We then visit the chimpanzee sanctuary, home to rescued primates, and discover how they are cared for and prepared for a safe life.

During the safari we continue to observe the fauna: elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and other animals that roam these open plains.

At every step we feel the magnitude of the work that has made Ol Pejeta the cradle of the conservation of black and white rhinos, species that survive here thanks to efforts that combine science, protection and passion for wildlife.

Day 8.- Ol Pejeta - Nairobi

After a last breakfast surrounded by the wildlife of Ol Pejeta, we set off on the return to Nairobi.

It is about 4 hours of travel, crossing plains and small villages, with time to comment on what we experienced and review the most special moments of the safari.

We arrived in Nairobi around mid-afternoon, just in time for you to rest or take advantage of the city before your departure flight.

This final stretch is quiet, but it serves to digest everything we have experienced: from Samburu and its unique species, through trekking on Mount Kenya and the safaris of Laikipia, to the deep conservation experience in Ol Pejeta.
